We are looking to add to our team another skilled Android/iOS app developer, as we take our products and services to greater heights.

ABOUT THIS JOB:

The ideal mobile app developer will have solid app development experience.  Work experience helps, but smarts and a willingness to learn matter more.

The work would nominally be at FreeElective Network's office in the heart of Chennai, a few miles from the IIT-Madras campus. However, the entire team has been working remotely since March 2020, from over a dozen cities and towns across the country, and the option to work from home will remain available.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Write clean code, using React Native, to build advanced applications for Android/iOS
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, build, test, ship, and support new features
• Work with outside data sources and APIs
• Write unit and UI tests for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Troubleshoot and debug to optimize performance
• Work with the product development team to plan new features
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
• Assist management team in ensuring efficient progress of workflow and transforming business visions into reality

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proficiency in JavaScript
• Proven software and app development experience
• Sound knowledge of relational database management systems
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.

PREFERENCES:

• Proficiency in Angular, React JS, or React Native
• Working knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
• Have published at least one original Android/iOS app
• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
• Experience in an Agile development life cycle
• Proficiency in source code management practices and working knowledge of version control tools
• Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science or related major
