We are looking for a creative UI/UX designer to shape and own the user interface design of our web and mobile apps, including that of new products in the pipeline.
ABOUT THIS JOB:
The ideal candidate will have a proven record of designing web and mobile app interfaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and intuitive to the user. The work would be at FreeElective Network's office in the heart of Chennai, a few miles from the IIT-Madras campus. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with the user support and product teams
- Generate original ideas, layouts, navigation components, and graphic user interface elements and translate complex concepts into clear visual representations
- Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, sitemaps, wireframes, and interactive prototypes
- Devise creative solutions to meet product and marketing objectives, including original graphic designs including page layouts, promotional landing pages, email campaigns, online banners, newsletters, partner channels, print collateral, and other site features/enhancements
- Collaborate with other creative, product development, and agency team members to create aesthetically-pleasing products that capture our brand and engage our users
- Follow best practices in user-centered design and stay up-to-date with design application changes and industry developments
- Assist management team in ensuring efficient progress of workflow and transforming business visions into reality
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong creative problem solving skills and the ability to visualize and articulate the big picture in a project
- Proficient in graphic/multimedia creation and manipulation software, including Photoshop and Illustrator, and wireframing tools such as Axure, Balsamiq, or Justinmind
- Intimate knowledge of information design and interaction design
PREFERENCES:
- Proven work experience as a Visual Designer, UI Designer or similar role, with an available portfolio of work related to interactive web and mobile app design
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS and familiarity with JavaScript
- Bachelor's degree in fine arts, graphic design, visual communications or related field
